What can I see and do at Upright Channel State Marine Park?

This 20 acre park has beautiful views over Upright Channel and can be accessed by boat or car. The sandy beach, fire pits and grassy lawn make this a great place to spend the day with kids. 

  • Digging for clams is fun and easy, just check to make sure the tide is low, make sure there is no red tide, and get a clamming license in Lopez Village. 
  • The sandy beach is perfect for sandcastles, swimming or just lounging in the sun. 
  • This day use area is often less crowded than nearby Odlin Park but has many of the same natural features.

Where is Upright Channel State Marine Park?

This is one of the few marine parks that can be reached without a boat. From the Lopez Ferry Landing head south on Ferry Road. Curve right onto Fisherman Bay Road when the road splits. Then take a right onto Military Road and follow signs to the Park, which will be to the north on the water.

When is Upright Channel State Marine Park open?

The park is open all year long for day use.

How much does Upright Channel State Marine Park cost?

If you are arriving by car you will need your Washington State Parks Discover Pass, which is attached to your vehicle. The Pass can be purchased for $10.00 for the day or $30.00 for an Annual Pass.
